ENGLAND

A site-specific play for galleries ENGLAND  written by the British playwright Tim Crouch brough to Lithuania for the first time. In author’s own words it is “the story of one thing placed inside another: a heart inside another person’s body, a culture inside another country’s culture, theatre inside a gallery, a character inside an actor, a play inside its audience.” Even if the play in essence was the same every night, every showing was unique and it responded directly to the exhibition displayed at the time in that specific gallery. This performance has been produced by “The Book Theatre” led by an actress Redita Dominatytė and throughout March-April 2018 it travelled to five different galleries in the Lithuanian cities of Vilnius, Kaunas, Panevežys, Šiauliai and Klaipėda where it’s been adapted to suit each exhibition displayed at those galleries at the time.
